Myrtle Beach has always had the reputation of being a family-friendly resort town. In recent years, this perception is starting to change. Myrtle Beach is becoming more and more geared towards young adults looking to have a good time. With countless bars, great food, and awesome attractions, it is easy to see why this place seems like paradise to many 21-year-olds. There are many different attractions in Myrtle Beach, but we have outlined the top 5 for young adults visiting the area.
1. Broadway At The Beach
Broadway at the Beach has long been the classic example of a tourist trap in Myrtle Beach. With hundreds of souvenir shops, Ripley’s Aquarium, and restaurants around every corner, it’s hard not to spend money here. However, when most places close at night, Celebrity Square at Broadway stays open, holding 10-15 original bars that are all open until 2 a.m. With a variety of bars and a variety of themes, it is nearly impossible to have a bad time here. Broadway Louie’s offers arcade games with a bar in the middle while Malibu’s Surf Bar offers a more club-like atmosphere. There is something for everyone at Celebrity Square and there’s even a designated cab line so you won’t have to look far to find a ride home.
2. The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk
The brand new Myrtle Beach boardwalk is gaining popularity quickly and is perfect for young adults looking to have a good time. With a huge arcade, several restaurants, and countless souvenir stores, the boardwalk, at first, sounds like any other. Myrtle Beach’s boardwalk is unique by the handful of bars that stay open late and are all just a few steps away from each other. Peaches’ Corner is a classic destination in Myrtle Beach, being one of the oldest establishments around, and offers visitors an old-time feel as they sit at the bar and watch their food cooked in front of them while enjoying a beer. Next-door is the Bowery, a Country-Western southern bar that is unique, to say the least. Throughout the boardwalk, there are several other great bars looking out at the beach and providing great selections at great prices.
3. House of Blues
The House of Blue is located in North Myrtle Beach and is a great destination during a Myrtle Beach vacation. With concerts, several nights a week, and a bar that seems to go on forever, the House of Blues offers an experience unlike any other in the area. With good food, good drinks, and good music, it’s hard to beat the House of Blue for a good time in Myrtle Beach.
4. Marsh Walk
The Marsh Walk is located just South of Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet and is one of the most unique places in the area. Recently renovated, the walk connects several bars along a walkway over the marsh. Every weekend, there is live entertainment at several bars including an outside band near the end of the walk. There are also several piers to enjoy walking on as you listen to music and drink the night away.
5. Therapy Pool Party
The newest Myrtle Beach attraction for young adults is the Therapy Pool party at Hotel Blue. Every Sunday, Hotel Blue guests have a free pass to the hottest pool party on the beach. Those not staying at the Hotel can still get in for a small cover charge. The party is awesome. With Myrtle Beach’s only resort-style swim-up bar and live music for hours every Sunday, Hotel Blue is the best place to check out for a good time in Myrtle Beach.
