Last Stop: Baltic Mills
Dan and Judy Garver purchased the Old Baltic Mill in 2013 and have since renovated and converted it into a quaint boutique winery in the heart of Ohio’s Amish Country. The Baltic Mill may have been remembered as a bulk food and gift shop for those familiar with the area. Still, for those who remember it from its original purpose, it was a place of grinding wheat into the mill’s own Little Daisy flour, named after one of the winery’s signature wines.
Directions from Guggisberg Cheese Factory: Go southeast on OH 557 for about 5 miles. Turn right onto Country Road 114. This road will become Township Hwy 178. Turn left onto Township Rd 177. After about a mile turn left onto OH 651. The road will merge into E. Main street. Follow the road until you reach 111 E. Main and the Baltic Mills.

Established in 1935, Bunker Hill Cheese, or Heini’s, is a third-generation, family-owned company with a long history of providing artisan cheese to the growing cheese market. The company was founded by John (Hans) Dauwaulder, a master cheese-maker who trained in Switzerland and immigrated to the United States in the 1920s. The Dauwalder family has since partnered with local farmers to produce their cheese, and this commitment to local production remains strong. In fact, the company can now produce up to twelve tons of cheese in a single day, with an average production of 50,000 pounds per week. Stop 5: Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center

The Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center has been a part of the community since 1981 when it was established as the Mennonite Information Center. In 1989, the facility was built on County Road 77 to house the Behalt Cyclorama and provide the necessary support space for the Bookstore and Gift Shop. After 13 years of operation, the center officially adopted its current name in 2002 to better reflect the mission and values of the Mennonite and Amish communities.
