Point State Park is located in Downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States, and is spread over an area of 36 acres. The park, established in 1974 is set at an area known as The Point, which is just at the meeting point of the Monongahela and Allegheny rivers that form the Ohio River. Note that the park is a registered National Historic Landmark and is maintained by the Pennsylvania Bureau of State Parks.
During your Pittsburgh travel, you will find that the state park includes two of Pittsburgh’s oldest structures which are Fort Duquesne and Fort Pitt. You can visit the Fort Pitt Museum which speaks a lot about the French and Indian War (1754 – 1763).

The park offers recreational opportunities for both the residents as well as visitors and is also a site for the major cultural events that take place in the city, such as the Three Rivers Regatta, Venture Outdoors Festival and Three Rivers Arts Festival.
A major attraction at the state park is the fountain. This fountain sprays water in the air up to 150 feet at the head of the Ohio River.
The fountain draws water from the “Wisconsin Glacial Flow”, which is an underground river that flows beneath the park. The park was not open to the public for a year and a half due to renovations that were going on. The park was reopened to the public in 2008.
