It really is difficult to pinpoint all of the great things to do in Florida, but here is a shortlist of just some of them!
Long Key West State Park

Disney World, Orlando
Disney World in Orlando is perhaps the most obvious attraction to mention in Florida, but this is for good reason. Speaking from experience, the many parks on offer are fantastic for children and parents alike, and you can spend a lot of time – indeed, an entire holiday- enjoying its attractions. The Magic Kingdom is comprised of seven different worlds, all ready to be explored, whilst water parks such as Typhoon Lagoon offer a refreshing day out, Epcot is awe-inspiring and in the evening you should be sure not to miss the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks display, where you can see the Disney castle illuminated by a myriad of beautiful lights. This is probably one of the main locations on a child’s holiday wish list.
Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Orlando
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios is brilliant for those children – and adults! – who are fans of this magical franchise? This slightly newer attraction transports you into this enchanting story, where you can wander around Hogsmeade, enjoy a butterbeer and see the iconic Hogwarts Castle. There are also three great rides to enjoy; the Forbidden Journey, Flight of the Hippogriff, and Dragon Challenge!
Discovery Cove, Orlando
Discovery Cove in Orlando is a great alternative to all the pure theme park adventures you’re likely to have on a family holiday in Florida. This is an all-inclusive day resort, where you can feed tropical birds, swim with dolphins, go snorkeling and relax on a beautiful tropical beach. All the equipment and gear for the snorkeling is provided, as well as lunch, breakfast, snacks, and drinks.
John F Kennedy Space Center
The John F Kennedy Space Center is great for those adults, big kids, and curious youngsters, and is the perfect place for a true adventure! At the center, you can take a tour and meet the staff, and if you go when a launch or landing is scheduled then you will be able to see it!
Funderdrome, Fort Lauderdale
The Funderdrome in Fort Lauderdale is a great place to enjoy indoor fun if you fancy escaping the heat for a little while. Kids and teens will be fully occupied by a play zone with climbing walls, a laser maze, and rope course, and the adults can take a break in the relaxation and wifi area.
