5 Unique Bars you want to try in Orlando

There are a lot of places to hang out in Orlando but the five bars below are unique experiences that I highly recommend while visiting the city.

The Courtesy

One of my favorite bars ever. This is definitely a must-visit for anyone who likes craft cocktails. The bartenders are so creative. You just need to tell them what you like, which alcohol you want to drink, and they are going to create the perfect cocktail for you. You will also be able to find great wine and craft beer if you do not want to get a cocktail. This sophisticated vintage place is definitely worth a try. If you want to learn how to make cocktails, they even offer classes. Check out their happy hour Tuesday to Friday from 5pm to 8pm and from 3pm to 8pm on Sundays.

The Hanson Shoes Repair

This Prohibition era-inspired speakeasy requires a password in order to let you in. No worries – getting it is pretty easy. Just give them a call and they will text you the password. The “Shoe Repair shop” has a Victorian Rustic vibe and a cute little rooftop with live music where you can enjoy your drinks. The handcrafted Prohibition-era cocktails are amazingly delicious. I advise you to get there early because the place does not take any reservations, and they only accept about 30 people in at once.

Lil Indies

Lil Indies is one of the best places to go in Orlando for live entertainment. It is connected to Will’s Pub, and Lil Indies is the most intimate cozy place, with a comfortable living room vibe. It is great if you want to have an amazing cocktail and still be able to talk to the people in your party. I love this place; it is so different than the rest of the bars in Orlando and the cocktails are out of this world. It is definitely a hidden gem. Make sure to go there on a Wednesday Night for Eugene Snowden’s Ten Pints of Truth!

Mather’s Social Gathering

This bar is located in a historic building on Magnolia St. Once you get there, you will have to take a private elevator to get to a library, then a secret door will lead you to the actual bar. I love the vintage atmosphere – think leather couches and brick walls. You feel like you have been transported into another era (this one is also speakeasy-style, but the decor features both vintage 1920s and modern elements). The cocktails are wonderful – try the Grand Frosé – but the amazing bartenders can also create something original to your liking. They have cheese and charcuterie boards, and you might also want to taste the Prohibition cookies that come with a shot of whiskey! Before you go there, be aware of the dress code: dress as though you’re going to have dinner at a nice restaurant!

Jellyrolls

Located on the Boardwalk by Walt Disney World, Jellyrolls is a piano bar that is perfect for a fun night with friends and family (older than 21 years old)! Sing along with the two pianists (and you might want to put on your dancing shoes!). You can even request your favorite song. Get the famous nightly special drink in the red plastic cup. Try not to get there too late to ensure that you get a seat since it is a really popular nightspot around the area!
