The Hideaway, Chez Andy
The Hideaway, with its renowned “warm beer, corked wine, and view of the car park,” is the overwhelming choice for the best restaurant value on St. Barths. Dining at the Hideaway is always a fun and lively experience thanks to the extremely gregarious Andy Hall and his staff.
After winning the Hideaway in a card game, Andy scoured maximum security prisons and mental institutions all over the world to find staff with the qualities to make his customers feel relaxed and at home.
Being English, Andy has carried on a cultural tradition of serving corked wine, warm beer and lousy food, something very hard to find in St. Barths. He also prides himself with a fine view of the car park.
La Langouste
Named after the spiny Caribbean lobster, Restaurant La Langouste is open every day for lunch and dinner and serves wonderful, simply prepared food, including its famous grilled lobster. The dining room tables surround the hotel pool which is illuminated at night. La Langouste has a distinctly homey feel thanks to the hospitality and charm if its owner, Annie Ange.
The grilled Caribbean lobster is the star of the menu. It is served with and complemented by a number of side dishes that have a distinct island character. There are also a wide selection of French and Creole specialties. The wine list has a variety of reasonably priced wines— particularly the whites which of course go wonderfully well with lobster.

Zanzibarth Restaurant
Three seasons into business, Zanzibarth restaurant which is located in Saint-Jean, still maintains an edge on sleek, sophisticated dining. While some critics bristle at the un-St Barth-like decor, many urban visitors appreciate the dramatic minimalist chic, the white-drenched hi-tech bar and lounge, and the Franco-Belgian and Italian dishes. This year, the Zanzibarth is proposing a special menu for gourmets, “all-around Black Truffles”. The bar is open from 6 pm until 1am and offers a long list of martini drinks and cocktails.
