Find Hotel Promo Codes Online
So you need to book a hotel? You’ve done your research, you know which hotel you want. NOW you need to get it for the best price. There are SOOOO many things to consider when booking a hotel, here is my strategy for success!
TripAdvisor
Search TripAdvisor for hotels and read reviews from previous guests.
Kayak
Search the dates again, making sure you click ALL the search options. This time obviously you need to look for the cheapest price for your selected hotel. Click the “show details” tab, then the tab “rates”. You will see how the rates say one thing but the total price says something very different! Typically a few sites will have very close if not identical final price points. You will want to keep this tab up to refer back to it.
Coupon Sites
Now comes the real SEARCH time! The easiest site to check first is Retail Me Not. Type the first 5 sites in the search bar, to make things easier just click promo codes on the left. It will reveal any promo codes that are available right now. The sites that typically have promo codes? Orbitz, Expedia, and Cheaptickets. Cheaptickets and Orbitz are owned by the same company and alternate who has better deals, I will say they tend to have more “fees” than other sites. If by luck you find a code that easy then by gosh I think you are done! This is typically when I get the promo code twitch, I MUST FIND BETTER DEALS!!!!
Travel Forums
Now its time to search the forums, I like Fatwallet or Flyertalk. These can get a little confusing… it’s like google searching but typically forums show in reverse so it starts with a conversation from 3 years ago and 109 pages later you will find something relevant…hopefully. They tend to share “unadvertised” promo codes or email promo codes that somehow have not hit the WWW yet.
At this point I hope you have found a few good codes for the time you are looking. Make sure to check the fine print. “two-night stay min” “purchase over $200”. With a little work you will find the perfect code. CONGRATS!!!!
Check Hidden Fees
Lastly make sure you check the “taxes and fees”, “parking fees”, “resort fees” blah blah blah! Sometimes a high resort fee will make the hotel no longer worth the price (we found a $50 a night hotel that ended up costing $100 after all their fees = NOT A GOOD DEAL!). Once you have checked all those boxes its time to jump! Do not wait on a good deal, hotel prices WILL change.
Final Word
I’m always amazed when people say they just reserved a room… without a promo code *GASP*. In the travel world there are so many different avenues fighting for your business, you are in the driver’s seat! Are you having trouble finding promo codes still? Let me know!
