Flamingo Paradise Garden Buffet: A Seafood Extravaganza!
The Paradise Garden Buffet at the Flamingo takes fresh seafood to new heights. Most hotels offer occasional “seafood nights” – at much higher prices. But the Flamingo “explodes” with fresh shrimp, snow crab, and fresh fish entrees every night beginning at 4:30 PM.
The Flamingo Paradise Garden Buffet is nestled next to the famous Flamingo Garden and Habitat area. You’ll enjoy panoramic views of the manicured greens, the cascading waterfalls, and natural ponds, all teaming with real pink flamingos, black swans, and giant Japanese Koi fish. And don’t be surprised if a water turtle occasionally pops its head out of the water for a shot of fresh air!
It’s crab, crab, and more crab at the nightly seafood spectacular! The Northern Pacific crab is stacked high and is properly chilled. You’ll enjoy its delicately flavored, “snowy white” meat alone or with the Flamingo’s wonderful seasoned cocktail sauce. The abundant and succulent raw shrimp is also perfectly cooled and still smells of the sea. Obviously fresh off the boat! Just peel and eat to your appetite’s delight.
You’ll always find lots of delicious nightly fresh fish entrees. The last time we dined at the Paradise Garden Buffet, the Flamingo chefs were featuring fresh pollack. They did it in a delectable lemon pepper sauce, which certainly brought out its delicate, slightly sweet flavor. Also on the menu that evening – fried whitefish. The frying gives this freshwater fish a mild, but sumptuous taste. On other visits, we’ve savored fresh grilled salmon, the brightly seasoned steamed mussels, and the baked farm-raised trout bonne femme, garnished with small onions and wild mushrooms.
Other dinner entrees that we’ve enjoyed at The Flamingo’s Paradise Garden Buffet include rich Swedish meatballs in a sour cream sauce and the delicious baby back ribs smothered in a sweet and spicy hoisin sauce. Dozens of handmade salads and cold pasta can also be found. My favorite is the cheese tortellini – mmm good! And top off your wonderful dinner with one of the Paradise Garden Buffet’s scrumptious desserts, which include several sugar-free items.
A full breakfast is also served daily at Flamingo Buffet. It comes with a glass of Le Domaine sparkling wine, or you can indulge with a full-bottle for a small additional price. The wonderful smells of handmade rolls, bread, and fresh coffee are sure to help you start the day right. Flamingo chefs make omelets and eggs to order, along with heavenly baked ham, cereals, and fresh-squeezed juices. And do not miss the wonderful Portuguese sausage!
Lunch at the Paradise Garden Buffet is truly a lovely affair, with the Flamingo’s beautiful garden in full bloom. It features a carving and stirs fry station, and all the tasty salads, pasta and desserts found at night. And at only $9.95, truly one of the best lunches in town!
The Flamingo Buffet’s expert staff is under the tutelage of Vice President and Director of Food & Beverage Terse Torgenson. Chef Torgenson hails from Norway and emphasizes “new ideas and high standards of culinary excellence.” He says his primary goal is to please the guests. “It takes months to gain a new customer, but only nightly from 4:30-11 PM and costs a second to lose one. I will do everything in my power to satisfy the customers.”
Thank you Mr. Torgenson. This customer is yours for life!
