Cable Beach
The most popular beach on all of New Providence Island is Cable Beach! Cable Beach is located in the heart of the hotel area, with plenty of bars, restaurants, and shopping close by. There are even a small shopping area and Daiquiri stand close by to give you a little variety to your normal beach day. This is by far the most popular beach on the island and offers pristine white sand and beautiful clear water. Now if you are looking for the highest visibility then Cable Beach and Paradise Beach are both at the top of that list. You can usually spot celebrities there from time to time.
Cable Beach is known to have some of the most amazing beaches coupled with high-end resorts that you wouldn’t want to miss seeing. Gamble at the Crystal Palace Casino, join the golf club and golf for a day, or sit back and relax on beautiful sandy beaches filled with the gorgeous turquoise sea that makes up the entirety of Cable Beach. From snorkeling to jet ski rentals there is never a shortage of things to do on Cable Beach.
Paradise Beach / Cabbage Beach / Casuarina Beach / Smugglers Beach / Colonial Beach
Paradise Beach is located on Paradise Island (formerly known as Hog Island) along that is a mile long pristine powder white sand with warm crystal clear aqua water. It is a great beach for all activities, from just relaxing in the sun, to snorkeling, to jet skiing, and even parasailing too. Other great beaches on Paradise island are Cabbage Beach, Paradise Beach, Arawak Beach, Casuarina Beach, Smugglers Beach and Colonial Beach are all located on Paradise (Hog) Island. All the beaches on Paradise Island offer a let touristy area as they are over the bridge from the Cruise ship terminal. However, the Atlantis Resort is on that island so it makes it a challenge at times too!
Salt Cay
If you are looking for the all-inclusive beach that offers attractions and beautiful cays then Salt Cay (Blue Lagoon Island) offers that for you. You will need plan ahead for this beach day tho, as it requires a quick boat ride to get there. They offer speed boats that leave from just outside the Cruise ship terminal and take you directly to the island. At Blue Lagoon Island you have a pick from swimming with the dolphins, shark feed dives, bouncing on the large bounce ball, glass-bottom kayak tours, and much more. So plan a day excursion to the Blue Lagoon Island and it will be more memorable then you can imagine.
Orange Hill Beach / South Ocean Beach / Caves Beach
If you are looking for something a little more low key and private then you need to check out Orange Hill Beach, South Ocean Beach, and Caves Beach. They are the top three most romantic beaches on the Island! Orange Hill Beach is located on the north side of the Island in an almost private beach setting. With no street vendors to haggle with you, this is one reason this beach is ranked as a romantic one. Caves Beach is more of a local’s beach, located just 7 miles outside of Nassau and Cable Beach area. This beach is a smaller beach and a great place to escape the tourist traffic. South Ocean Beach is on the lower Southern Side of the Island closer to where the old Bacardi factory is located.
Arawak Cay
Arawak Cay is located on the Northside of the Island right next to the fish fry area. When you want a fun day full of activities then come here. You can go across the street and visit Fort Charlotte or you can come off the beach and grab some amazing local food at the Fish Fry. This is home to the famous Conch Salad and Conch Fritters. So if you have not yet discovered the local food now is the best time to try it. There are several different fish fry places to try out, so you might need to take the Jitney back again to try another. So visit the Arawak Cay today and get a great of fun in the sun on beautiful Bahamas’ Beaches.
Love Beach
Love Beach is home to the famous Compass Point Studio and a “locals only” beach, although most times the beach is deserted and no locals in sight. This beach is the Prime Ministers’ choice location for snorkeling. Love Beach is located about 10 minutes outside of downtown Nassau on the Northside of the Island Love Beach offers over 40 acres of protected coral just off the shore, so be sure to bring your snorkeling gear or you can rent a glass-bottom boat from in town. So plan your day trip today to Love beach.
Saunders Beach
Saunders Beach is located within the heart of Goodman’s Bay on the Northern Center of the Island. It is located only a few minutes from downtown Nassau and only 20 minutes from Lynden Pindling International Airport. With beautiful white sand and a great central location, what more could you ask for in a Bahamian Beach?
Sandy Toes
Sandy Toes is an amazing beach that is located on Rose Island just off the coast of near Nassau. It offers an amazing private island destination and the only one to offer both amazing snorkeling experiences and uninhabited island escape. Sandy Toes does offer private group tours and has its own bar for a little extra fun in the sun. This island is like a big kid’s paradise for a fun-filled day of volleyball, beaches, drinks, and good times. Many couples looking for that extra special something to set their wedding apart choose this amazing location for the magical day.
Sandyport Beach
Sandyport Beach is located within the property of the Sandy Point Resort. This beach is a private guest-only beach that allows you the stay and play option. So if you are looking for an amazing location to stay at and be able to walk out beautiful white sand beaches, this is your destination.
Junkanoo Beach / Montagu Beach
A great beach that is located in the downtown area is the Junkanoo Beach or Montagu Beach, just a few minutes’ walk from the Cruise Ship docks or the Straw Market. Junkanoo Beach is closest to the cruise ship terminal and within easy walking distance from the Straw Market and downtown Nassau area. It is not the best-kept area, but it is a great local beach with a few little bars in the area. It offers you local brew and food close to the beach. On some days you can even get a little live entertainment from local musicians that will play in the bar areas. Junkanoo Beach is the best local beach if you want to really see the Bahamian culture and it is free admission. Junkanoo Beach is sometimes called Western Esplande Beach as well.
Jaw’s Beach / Clifton Heritage / Flipper Beach
To the east of the Cruise ship terminal is Montague Beach. This too is a short walk from the terminal and the Straw Market. There is Fort Montagu that sits on the edge of the sea wall that you can tour when you are going to Montagu Beach. Often times on weekends there is a larger party or celebration going on in the park right next to Montagu Beach.
Jaw’s Beach and Clifton Heritage Nation Land and Sea Park are on the southwest end of the island, so its a little ride from Nassau, but it a beautiful national park area too! It is often called the Island’s best-kept secret. The park combines the nature hikes, guided tours, historical ruins and of course amazing naturally beautiful beaches. So if you are looking for a great beach that will not be overpopulated and crowded then this is the beach for you. This is a great way to learn more about the history of the island and slave history too, yet get to enjoy its beauty at the same time. The entrance to the park is minimal and around $2.00 a day per person. Jaws Beach also offers a reef close to the coast so snorkeling is at your fingertips when you visit here. Not only do you get amazing white sand Beaches, but snorkeling fun too. Jaws Beach is located to the north of Clifton Heritage Nation Land and Sea Park and just south of Flipper Beach. Both Flipper Beach and Jaws Beach are similar in not only location, but they also share the same reef area and are perfect for a day of snorkeling or diving, along with just relaxing on the beach too!
Coral Harbor Beach / Adelaide Beach
On the south side of the island, there is also Coral Harbor Beach and Adelaide Beach that offer southern exposure and amazing diving and snorkeling options.
